I have definitely figured out that the knocking in the rear is the trunk latch checking itself. Don't know why it does it, but it does. I remember this being answered by somene else, but don't remember where so I am posting once and for all that it is the trunk latch.

Thanks for verifying I wasn't crazy thinking that's what it was...it still scares the hell outta people when I leave them sitting in the car while I run into the store or somethin' though .

Never heard it either, although I did hear a pinging type noise from the rear only to learn that my antenna was a little loose and the wind was moving it enough to make some noise.

I just started hearing mine and started laughing because I knew that it was the same sound others are hearing. And it does sound like someone is knocking in your trunk.

Seems weird to me that it's the trunk latch. Especially since sometimes I hear it a couple times over the span of a few minutes. In fact I've heard it at a red light before. Does it really need to check that many times?
LOL it totally sounds like a ghost in the trunk....

I hear it all the time, and this explanation does make sense because if the trunk isnt shut tight sometimes it doesnt warn you that its open for a few minutes. If its wide open it warns right away but if its just not latched right It warned me once while I was driving down the street.
