Would this be the forum to ask about tire rotation and balance?

If so, when is a good time to do it? I just hit around 4000 miles and I have the 18 inch rims and perelli tires on it.

Thanks!

Couldn't hurt. You could give it a couple thousand more miles though. I always look at tire rotation as an annoyance, so I wait to jack the car up until more like 10K miles.

i just wear the fronts out then move the backs to the front and buy new backs instead of rotating them. wheel balancing im not sure about although since my steering wheel shakes even after alighnment i probably need to get my wheels balanced.

Wheel balancing is an as needed thing, it doesn't have to be done unless you are having a problem. Same thing with rotation, it only needs it if you are seeing uneven wear. Most cars do wear faster in the front, so it can help balance the set of tires to last evenly, but if you plan on replacing only 2 tires and using the same ones then you could leave them alone. I always replace 4 tires at a time, so I rotate every 5000 miles or so, basically when I finally feel like doing it.

ok i work at disount tire and ive had my coby for a while now and its had its rotos
i wouldnt worry about the balancing unless it shakes or anything

but if you go to discount they will takegreat care of you, our rule is to rotate tires every 6000 miles we will take the rears, cross them and put them on the front and pull the fronts back.

depending on the place it will cost nothing or close to
