ss cuts out in middle of road

so im leaving my house the other day to go to shcool . As i am leaving my neighboor hood i pull out into the mian intersection and my car shuts off. the power steering lokcs up the breaks dont work nothing lights up. so i finally came to a stop luckley in a safe lane . So i just got the car it has 3000 miles on it and it shut down so i try to start it back up nothing happens no interior lights or nothing so i call my parents and all to tell them so they can come get me and all. so then i figuire i wil hit the on star button and i did nothing happend at for any of the buttons. so when i go to get out the car the door wont unlock even if i pull the lock so i had to crawl out the window. my remote wont even upon the door it was horrible. so the tow truck finally came and took it to the delarship and they found a pinched wiere in the trunk said it was a normal thing.some bull **** what if i was going like down the interstate i would have been dead

crawl out the window?!? ..that's brutal...and the dealer brushes it off as "normal". According to him I guess all new cars randomly shut down for no apparant reason..

You could have used the key to unlock the door from the outside while inside or what about pulling the lock up on the back side of the door or did you try that? Anyway that sounds scary. What wire did they say gets pinched? I would like to know so I can check my car. What model do you have?

Anyway I would like to have more info on this to see if GM need to do some type of recall or fix if the car loses power off battery or something and you lose steering. The steering should not lock up but just be hard to turn if the key is in the right position and you lose power.

Happened to me at work last month. I come outside to check on my car and get something out of it and I was like why isnt my car unlocking.. So i open it with my key and my car wont start. Battery was just dead. Then the next day I get in my car and no lights on at all except for my headlights. All interior and tail lights were out I was like Dam! Just a fuse tho just needed a little bit of light to check it out since it was dark outside and i couldnt drive my car but did anyways. Ive also had Engine power reduced once on the high way.. that really sucked.

its a ss they said the wire had somthing to do with the computer that all they told me about it its in the turnk some where they had to rip out the back seats and everything. also i tried to pull the lock and it was hard but once i got it up in went right back down before i could grab the handle to open it and when i tried them at the same time it stayed locked.
