shipping charges

so im planning on buying stage 2 kit from crateenginedepot really soon...only thing is that they won't have any other sales under 550 cause he said that its their sale price already all year round so yea...but really my question is when i order this thing..shipping is gonna be a certain price but will i get any additional tax on this thing when it crosses the boarder and gets to my door?

This might be a better question for the shipping company. Depends what company. If they ship UPS your screwed.. if they ship USPS you'll save a crap load.

UPS charges taxes as normal (6% GST, 7% PST) in most cases. It all depends on if they inspect. Also, they charge something called brokerage. Brokerage for UPS depends on price range. For $550 valued item, you'd probably be looking at $90 in brokerage.

USPS/Canada Post only charges between 5-10$ normally and they almost never charge taxes/inspect packages.

why not ship to a shipping in point roberts or sumas and go drive and pick it up yourself, declaring it and just paying the 7% pst (i think)

I ordered mine from Tom. He shipped it us priority for $20 I got it in a week. All i payed was $5 fee and the gst. You'll probably have to pay the pst also.
Great place to deal with.

Whatever you do, stay away from TSB Shipping in Point Roberts, I've heard some real horror stories from my boss about that place. He sent a dirt bike frame in there, when he went to get it, he saw people rummaging around looking for their packages, packages split open on the floor and crushed under other parcels. Yeah, wouldn't go there...
