My first MOD
My first MOD
Im very happy I just bought me my first MOD for my 2.4 SS/SD. I got me a cold air intake from Chevy and it sounds great and I can def feal the little extra power. I am going saturday to get it tuned. Also Im trying to think of what I should go next but Im not trying to spend to much money right now what else do you guys think I should get for it. Also if I get a distribitor and spark plugs would it make a difference if so by how much. Thanks.
So I shouldnt get a tune also What else should I go??

spend your money on another mod. Don't worry about a tune just yet. If you're gonna tune it, i'd go with at least the basic mods first (Intake, Exhaust Manifold, Downpipe, Cat-back (or catless...) tuning would really only be required for anything beyond that I believe.

I have the GMPP Touring exhaust and couldn't be happier with it...sounds very nice...should REALLY open up with a DP
NP, but just think, why would you need more fuel if you are forcing more air...in other words you'll only need bigger injectors if you F/I the car, or put an extreme cam in it.
You won't need it for CAI, cat backs, DP, etc...right now Cobalt Addiction has a shorty header for about $200

I have the GMPP performance exhaust and I often get asked if I have a custom setup or something because it's DEEP. I haven't heard the touring, but if you want something that will growl when you step on it... I'd go performance. Also, make sure you don't go any bigger than 2.5 inches with the exhaust unless you're going turbo/supercharged.. that will only hurt our cars.

I've got all the basic engine, suspension and brake bolt ons (CAI, engine torque damper, header, downpipe, cat-back, springs, strut bar, sway bar, tranny mount bushing inserts, slotted rotors and pads) so feel free to shoot me any questions and ill be happy to help!
Nice first mod and I hope you continue to enjoy modding your new SS!
As for plugs, I doubt they'll make any signifigant gains. Might wanna check out E3's new plugs though. (www.e3sparkplugs.com). They had a 4 page write up about them in the new HCI. Supposedly they're pretty badass. I plan on buying some in the near future, so ill write a review on them when I do.
