My first MOD

Im very happy I just bought me my first MOD for my 2.4 SS/SD. I got me a cold air intake from Chevy and it sounds great and I can def feal the little extra power. I am going saturday to get it tuned. Also Im trying to think of what I should go next but Im not trying to spend to much money right now what else do you guys think I should get for it. Also if I get a distribitor and spark plugs would it make a difference if so by how much. Thanks.

what in the world is a 2.4 ss/sd??? the 2.4 is naturally aspirated, and the 2.0 is the ss/sc? is that what you mean?

ummm no distribitor on our cars...and you shouldn't need a tune with just an intake...

spend your money on another mod. Don't worry about a tune just yet. If you're gonna tune it, i'd go with at least the basic mods first (Intake, Exhaust Manifold, Downpipe, Cat-back (or catless...) tuning would really only be required for anything beyond that I believe.

I like to have a mello sound but when I step on it I want it to have a nice deep tone sound.

Any Touring exhaust then, they are a little more expensive usually because of the extra resonator/packing.

I have the GMPP Touring exhaust and couldn't be happier with it...sounds very nice...should REALLY open up with a DP

And the price on that is getting ready to go up...but if you want a mellow tone, the Performance sound is NOT for you...little ricey IMO

Injectors won't do squat.

Plugs will probably make it worse.

NP, but just think, why would you need more fuel if you are forcing more air...in other words you'll only need bigger injectors if you F/I the car, or put an extreme cam in it.

You won't need it for CAI, cat backs, DP, etc...right now Cobalt Addiction has a shorty header for about $200

Look for a guy called Jackalope on the boards. He's got a nice SS sedan. I'm sure he knows where to get the goods.

I have the GMPP performance exhaust and I often get asked if I have a custom setup or something because it's DEEP. I haven't heard the touring, but if you want something that will growl when you step on it... I'd go performance. Also, make sure you don't go any bigger than 2.5 inches with the exhaust unless you're going turbo/supercharged.. that will only hurt our cars.

I have the GMPP Touring very happy with it . Have had good comments on the sound , it's deep but quiet unless run at or above 4000 rpm .

Or me

I've got all the basic engine, suspension and brake bolt ons (CAI, engine torque damper, header, downpipe, cat-back, springs, strut bar, sway bar, tranny mount bushing inserts, slotted rotors and pads) so feel free to shoot me any questions and ill be happy to help!

Nice first mod and I hope you continue to enjoy modding your new SS!

As for plugs, I doubt they'll make any signifigant gains. Might wanna check out E3's new plugs though. (www.e3sparkplugs.com). They had a 4 page write up about them in the new HCI. Supposedly they're pretty badass. I plan on buying some in the near future, so ill write a review on them when I do.
