LNF Cobalt SS Makes Racing Debut This Friday

See it on the track before it hits the showroom! The SS/TC will be in action this Friday Jan 25th competing in the Koni Challenge Series Street Tuner class @ the world center of speed, Daytona International Speedway. Link to testing from driver Eric Curran: http://www.ericcurran.com/content/view/28/36/ Notice how much weight had to be added to the LNF car= wow. This is the race before Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona...it will not be televised that I know of but you view live timing & scoring on grandamerican.com . Race starts @ 2:15 est. It is the only American made vehicle in the ST class...Go Cobalt Go!!

Thanks, I am trying to make it to the race if I can get off work Friday. It is about a 8 hour drive for me...I will report back if I make it! It will be racing the RX8, GTI, TSX, RSX, Subaru Legacy turbo, Z4, 330i, Scion t/c, Miata & the Mini S in the ST class.

There is one SRT4 in the field...link to pictures: http://theracesite.com/index.cfm?tem...3365&mag_cat=5 You can see they are very stock w/ rollbars for saftey; no tube frames, retains stock suspension set-up. This is real "stockcar" racing...if you look close you can see they have the new X style grille.

That is a masive amout of weight! The last track day I did my instructor went about 250... that is lbs! When he signed me off to go solo I was getting 5-10 mph faster down the straightaways! The SS/SC had to run stock exhaust last year...I was at the race @ Barbers Motorsport Park & the other cars were loud (RX8 was stupid loud) but you could not hear the Cobalt. The Grand Am officals have to slow the SS down or it would dominate the other cars!
