Lightbulb Anyone encountered steering side effect after TTR mount installation ?

So I installed the TTR Poly Trans Mounts and as the hundreds of posts on this subject indicated already, the vibrations are quite irritating. But I can feel already that it's gotten better by the day as they break in. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will be able to run my A/C without being shaken to death :p

Now, the problem I'm encountering right now is that when I break (semi-)hard, my steering wheel shakes a little bit.
It's not much, but that wasn't the case at all before with the stock mounts, so I was wondering if some of you have encountered the same problem and how you fixed it.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of the rattling steering wheel under heavy breaking

Thanks in advance for da info !!!

There is no way a mount will affect that, I am sure 99% it is your rotors. Also the vibs will go down some, but that is a side effect of solid mounts, there is a small trade off, but the other gains on the performance side are well worth it IMO.

Not saying that your product is causing the side effect, but it definitely has made it noticeable.

Other than that I can feel already that the car shifts and launches better. The vibrations are tolerable right now, just not when the A/C is on. I just got them installed last Friday, so hopefully in a week or two they'll break in even more.

I will have them checked later this week.

You're the third one to say it so I guess it's a common occurance.

Any suggestions on good replacements
Just looking for some solid rotors at affordable prices.

Thanks

ehh... that might be difficult considering the SS/SC isn't even shipped to the Netherlands... how many miles do you have? you might be able to get them turned...

was probably always there, you're just really noticing it now because you put the mount in so you're looking for the vibes.

It's @ 25K miles right now !!

I'm in Curacao, located in the Netherlands Antilles. It's a small Island/colony of The Netherlands in the Caribbean. So I'm not that far away actually. There are only 2 SS/SC's on the Island. Mine being the baddest one

I subscribe to a postal service which gives me my own address in the US. Once I order something it's shipped to my US address, and afterwards it's flown over to me over here
So I can pretty much order everything I want, but due to the freight costs and import taxes I have to pay over here once the parts arrive, it's much more expensive for me to acquire stuff than you guys who are living in the States.

So please be 'gentle' with your suggestions as I don't have unlimited funds

with 25k you should be able to get the rotors turned... as long as they haven't been warped for too long... but ofcourse with the prices some places charge to turn the rotors... you could get new ones... are there advance autos or pep boys or something around? they will typically sell replacement rotors...

you got lucky dude... I've heard of a very few people that got free upgraded rotors...

rotors are considered a "wear" item and are typically not covered... if your mileage is extremely low you might get the dealer to do something... but at 25k I guarantee you they are't gonna do ****.

So you are from the Netherlands (Curacao) close to Aruba. I am from Trinidad (T&T FTW).

I don't know about that. I have 45k km on my car and have already had them turned once and it is now back in a second time for turning or replacement because of pulsating due to warpage. If they cannot turn them they are going to replace them with the GMPP rotors.

That's what I was told today.

I guess I will have to wait and see after work.

cheers, wish me luck
