Anyone advance there cams on the lsj?

i got a set of stage 2 tri flows from jbp and i was wondering if anyone has advanced them any? exhaust or intake? any improvements?
just a thought

I think he meant with adjustable cam gears. If you wanted to advance the intake, and retard the exhaust, you'd get more LSA and thus a better seal in the combustion chamber. You may loose a small amount on bottom end, but you'll make it up in the top end. Most after market cams use a LSA of 110-112, which is a happy medium. The 1400 hp Ecotec makes peak power at like 9200 rpm and uses a LSA of 117, to show you what I mean.

How would that effect the Lobe Separation Angle? Isn't that permanently ground in the cam? That would just change the advance. You are better of getting a cam ground for the advance you want than messing with a cam you bought.

It is in fact ground into the cam... In an engine with one cam. However in a DOHC each cam controls either the intake or exhaust valves, thus changing the lobe centerline on either will change the lobe separation angle.
