a few friends and i were thinking.... would it be possible to re pin a the 2.2 wiring to fit a 2.0 ecu. i know we would need the pin outs for each, which i have and the 2.0 ecu and the connectors to fit the 2.0 ecu. with all of this does anyone think that it could be done, if not i am just going to get the aem piggyback

 

basically, no. you can't just swap out the ecu. it controlls too many things that will no longer work.

 

i have looked at the pinouts for both of the ecu's the 2.0 has all the 2.2 wires and 6 extra that the 2.2 engine doesnt have...

 

it won't work. get the aem. the computers from the 2.0 and 2.2 are not compatible. you can probably get it wired up no problem, but it won't be able to communicate with the other systems. if it doesn't communicate with the other systems, they don't work.
