Great idea for us Floridians

I know that all these Cobalt SSs are really darn nice and all but i definetely think GM needs to hear me out on this. Im thinkin that they should make just a couple of convertible SS/SCs cuz that way you can not only haul some serious butt but also do it with the top down and your hot girl lookin at him gettin whooped from the passenger seat. reply with what yall think about such a great idea.

i agree with that i was thinking the same thing a cuple of days ago bout how cool it wld b to have a convertible cobalt, but i think that chevy wnt do it netime soon if at all. it id get it, but i doubt that a major corp is going to listen to a 16 yr old about wat adjustments it shld make to make a single car for them better for sales.

I think it's a bad idea. Just my opinion though, but I don't think it would look as good as a convertible.

NO!!! TO THE CONVERTABLE IDEA, I HAD A TIRE AND RIM ASSEMBLY GO THRU MY WINDSHEILD (MY 95' MONTE CARLO) ON I-95 COMING HOME FROM THE RACE TRACK IN MIAMI 3 YEARS BACK, AND I'M A FERM BELEAVER IN A SOLID ROOF TO PROTECT YOU IN CASE OF SOMEBODYS STUPIDEY. FYI I WAS DOING 70mph AND THE TIRE WAS BOUNCING AROUND AT APROX. 55mph CAME RIGHT OVER THE WALL, AND IT HIT RIGHT WHERE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WAS, IT WAS DARK OUT AND THE TIRE WAS BLACK SO SEEING IT WAS OUT OF THE QUESTION, BECAUSE WHEN I NOTICED IT ALL I COULD DO WAS SAY "**** TIR.." AND THEN SMASH THAIR WAS A TIRE RIGHT THRU THE WINDSHEILD, COULDN'T SWERVE OR ANYTHING. I GOT HIT IN THE HEAD WITH THE ROOF AND PUT A DENT IN IT W/MY HEAD. STAYED AWARE AND VERED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. NO ONE ELSE WAS INVOLVED IN MY ACCADENT. GOOD THING I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE IN ADVERSE SITUATIONS.
P.S. I STILL FLINCH WHEN ANYTHING MOVES PAST MY WINDSHEILD, I.E. PAPER, ROCKS, ANYTHING.

And on the other hand, I had my Z-24 Convertable for 4 years and absolutely loved it! Minus the incovieniance of the rain leaking in around the weather stripping!

lol, I was looking at my car yesterday thinking about that.
Though I lack the hot girl in the passenger side, I would still appreciate a convertible here in daytona.

oh yeah i most definitely would still be missing that hot girl in the passenger seat but still i think it would great picture in my head. Even if nobody seems to like the idea i still think that picture in my head about seeing that cruising down the streets here in florida with the sun shining and SRT-4 getting walked on, but its still a long shot. I dunno i just thought i would float that idea around and at the moment im near sarasota which is about 45 south of tampa incase ya didnt know

nope dont own one yet but i really want one but the funds just arent there yet and yeah when i finally get one and they will be walked on when i finally get mine. And yeah raced one once at the track and absolutely got demolished in the Grand Am but thats cuz its a wussy GA with an exhaust its really not worthy of a GT emblem at all but i cant wait for the day when they will be taken by SS/SC that ill be driving.... or atleast most of em haha

One word: Cavalier. I do not want any more reasons for ignorant people to confuse the Cobalt with the Cavalier.

NO CONVERTIBLE!

if there was a convertible made of the ss/sc, it would weigh like 3300lbs.... which would make our car slow...

IF they were to come out with a convertable Cobalt, it would be much better suited to the n/a SS. An SS/SC convertable doesn't make sense. I don't know about drag strips, but most road courses will never allow a stock convertable onto the course without at least a roll bar, if not a roll bar and a hard top replacement. Like Merc said, you're adding a WHOLE lot of unnecessary weight.

Essentially it would completely defeat the purpose of the SS/SC. It's about as logical as making an SRT, EVO, or STi convertable - it's just not what the car was meant for.

yeah but i was just thinking of it as an option not necessarily a requirement like you have to have it just as if you wanted it you could get it...
