07 ss/sc cobalt intake

ok, i have an 07 ss/sc cobalt 2.0, and i want to get an intake but every thread i read talks me out of getting one. does the CEL go on and why does it go on when u install an intake? the airbox mod is work im not willing to do out of sheer laziness, so i need to know which brand intake is the best for the 2.0 07 ss/sc and if it is even worth it to get

from my understanding, the CEL will go on for certain cars because of altered fitment of the CAI with respect to the original OEM intake.

cars use a MAF sensor to measure the mass rate of flow of air (and adjust other properties accordingly) through the volume the MAF sensor is in, and so it uses a set of specific equations for a specific volume within the intake. if you alter that volume in any way, it will change the mass rate the MAF is measuring from what the computer thinks it should be measuring, and will throw a code accordingly.
