Staying ahead of a McLaren
Finally edited this video from March 2013. This was still on my stock turbo and engine. An MP4-12C came up behind me and thought he would pass me on the straight... but had to tuck back in behind me. I kept him behind me for the entire lap which was exciting. I intentionally left the door open for him at 1:36 but he didn't bite
What was not so exciting was that in the first lap of the next session, some of my rod and main bearings gave out from oil starvation. Engine has since been built and I'm now on the ZFR. Hope I get a rematch one of these days!
Later in the day when I was forced to be a spectator, this guy was lapping close to 2 minutes. My best that day was around 2:08...
Enjoy

All that doesn't mean it's not a ton of fun giving a quarter-million-dollar car a run for their money in a Cobalt!

This picture was taken that day. Not even that extreme; I've hit 1.2's before and since.
I did not change the oil that time like i always do but it was MAYBE 3,000 miles old and it was plenty full. Like ecaulk said, just a combination of high G-forces in the turns, and high temps causing the oil to become more liquid and less lubricating if that's a word lol
I do have the baffled oil pan from Powell now, I put an extra half quart of oil in on track days and will be using a slightly higher viscosity oil at the track as well.
