I own an 06 ss/sc, my dad has an 05 maxima, you'll smoke him, by the way the weight of the maxima is gonna be around 3800lbs with the subs, and its stock 265 horsepower, probably 275-280 with the intake, at the crank

He actually put a CAI on a Maxima? I think you should beat him. I've never actually taken my time to race one though...

my 5.5 gen 02 max was strong enough to pace an R32 from a roll. the 6th gen is a bit heavier but just as quick, mid high 14s high 90mph traps. the wail with an intake is great too...

you should win narrowly from a dig, youll be even from a roll.

they wont be even from a roll, i've done this exact race more than 5 times, both these cars are in my garage! the cobalt will pull until about 110-120 then teh maxima will start to cath up and EVENTUALLY pass

So you watched his tires spinning for 30 minutes and didn't realize it's a FWD car? And your claim that his car weighs 4,500 lbs is preposterous! That's a 3,500 lb. car and I seriously doubt he's got a thousand pounds worth of stereo equipment in the trunk. And the '04 Maxima has 265hp, not 255. The AEM intake probably adds a little, too.

I know I'm bumping an old thread, but these threads come up in Google searches and I wanted to correct the misinformation I saw.

We have an 04 Maxima running on 5 cylinders. Can't imagine it's fast with all 6.

Is there a trophy for the oldest thread resurrection for the dumbest reason? This one is a contender.
