Door Handles

I have a bad problem with the metal on the handle of my cobalt splitting and cutting fingers when they reach into the handle... Anyone else having these problems???

yes mine did it to so far I have had only the fronts do it so far and they were wonted it has happened 3 times

Yeah, mine did it. Cheap chrome. I was thinking about wrapping them in carbon fiber. I'll most likely paint them to match the rest of the trim though.

its FAKE chrome... mine did it too. you need new ones. you dont even have to pop off the door pannel to do it either

Yeah my inside handles fake chrome started to peel off recently.

Oh yes!"! I first did it cleaning then I had a woman have it happen and she peeled it off so now it show white plastic.

Mine are also doing this was this covered by a recall or your warranty mine is out of warranty.

Its extremely difficult to metalize plastics. Everything has to be perfect otherwise it peels like you guys are experiencing.

Had this problem in my 09 but not my 07, I just threw in a new set of handles from the wreckers

I just took mine apart and painted them graphite to match the existing dash trim. Looks better then from the factory and they've held up perfectly for over a year now.
