how much better would they be over ss\sc fronts with slotted rotors, ss lines, and hawk pads?
With just the stock pads over the Hawk HP Plus I was using on the 06 SS brakes the difference is NIGHT AND DAY BABY! Took me several laps to adjust to my new shorter braking distances! I already had steel lines and kept them on the conversion.

I'm still looking for part numbers for the rear brake pads on the new SS so I can complete that parts list. Does anyone have that information? Pleeeease? Gots to even out the braking which is a tad pointy at maximum now.

Talk to my guys over at GenuineSaab.com They are in my hometown.

http://www.genuinesaab.com/catalog/p...roducts_id=692

GM blanks that are grooved. Would be even better than GM rotors

GM is now delivering Saab 9-3 pads when Cobalt SSTC pads are ordered, they are PN 93190388 if you wanna order some for yourself online, they have a different number at a Chevy dealer and when the order is placed the Saab pads are what is shipped. These are NOT the stock SSTC pads though and shouldnt suffer the same grooving as the factory installed pads do, but they may not offer the same performance either, Id go with Hawks or Porterfields personally, leave the Saab parts for the guys with cars from Trollhattan

ok so im on a budget and i can get all the nesseary parts installed i have however 2 questions. 1 if i do this do i have to upgrade the rears for the bias or not? figure i ask so i know before to or not buy the rears from the tc. and 2nd. i would like to keep my stock sc wheels. if i can how would i be able too? dont have alot of money but enough to perhaps consider this. just like to know from the pros first. thanks

Only way to keep your SC wheels would be to run spacers, Ive heard but havent verified that you need massive 15mm spacers to clear, I would never recommend running that much spacer. No you dont have to upgrade the rears for proper bias, youre going to get about 5% more front bias because of the rotor size difference, this is within what most people consider acceptable. if you need more rear brake you could swap pads, thats a lot cheaper than goin with the TC rears (I could sell you my used TC rears if you really want them )

I just read that the stock Ion Red Line 17" wheels will easily fit over the Brembos... which makes me happy in many ways. Just passing the info on, hopefully we can double-verify this.

emk3 enkies 18 x 8 fit the brembo package. the best cheapest BBK upgrade will be the 311mm floating rotor (dimpled not drilled) upgrade available from OTTP reasonably priced in about 2 weeks max. The are in production now. a 315 TC floating rotor upograde is about 3-4 week away. these will be slotted rotors. My experience shows these floating rotors will last 1- 2 years on the street....

Not familiar with BBK?

Maven mentioned a while back someone (Him? I don't know...) attempting to come up with a fix that would allow SS/TC axles/hubs on cars with the earlier ECU's. Anyone know about progress in this department?

BBK=big brake kit

You cant run SS/TC hubs on an 05/06 car. There is a solution, its based on what the Koni Challenge cars run, it requires custom machined knuckles and different hubs.

yup, and teeth counting for the ABS, i think that was honestly one of the bigger issues. Hubs aren't hard.
