If I've ready correctly, the only parts that need to be swapped out are the actual calipers and bolts, pads, and rotors? The brake lines were confirmed to be the same? And besides needing more spoke clearance, it's a 100% compatible with LE3 and regular LE5 setups...

If that's the case, then I will most likely be looking into doing this swap down the road as well (no pun intended). Doing a full FE5 conversion will be first on the list, however.
The brake hoses are NOT the same, but they are serviceable.

YES all you need is the brake parts, and if you decided you needed the hoses so you were legit, they are only like $30, you should be upgrading to braided stainless anyway.

Fantastic man, that's what I needed to know. Excellent!

I'd tell what I'm considering this swap for, but then I'd have to kill you...

Just kidding. Guys like you prove that CSS.net isn't a total loss after all. Thanks again.

No problem. If its not an Ion, It better be worthy of Brembos

Wasn't quite what I meant... I was talking about what I am planning to do with the Ion after I do this...

Regardless, thanks again. I don't know of any Ion guys that have done this yet, so maybe I'll be the first.

So what kind of price is this?

Need the pads / rotors / calipers, and that is it, correct? I need to do a brake job on my wife's '05 IRL Comp package anyway - I'll go ahead and throw down on new Brembos

No, youre looking mid to high 800's for fronts, still super hard to even come close unless your willing to actually buy brakes and not just a name or pretty anodizing

Unless youre 100% sure that this will fit with your wheels, its not really worth it imo, most people would be amazed at what GOOD pads, rotors, fresh fluid and teflon hoses will do for performance

thats what im mainly worried about. i just bought aftermarket enkei's that CLAIM the brembos will fit but im not sure its worth risking. im looking at dba's and carbon hawk pads for the time being, so im hoping they will deliever some top notch performance.

btw i just priced out both front rotors, calipers/ a pin kit, and all new front pads for 756.49. im not sure if the washers come in the pin kit or not, however i dont think itl throw it up that much, which still is under 800, and not bad at all imo.

Eleventeen hundred.

If you think think Hawk HPS pads are the penultimate brake pad then the Brembos will blow your mind.

No, there are no aftermarket rotors for the SS/TC brakes that I am aware at this time.

There are aftermarket pads, but i wouldnt call all of them upgrades.

The OEM pads on the SS/TC brakes are a very serious pad. They are Ferodo HP1000's. This is essentially the most aggressive street pad used by ANY manufacturer. Google that pad name and see what other vehicles its used on.....then you tell me if its enough for a Balt.

I would consider EBC Reds, Hawk HPS, Axxis, Posiquiets, etc, etc, etc(virtually every pad youve ever seen used widely here) all a step down from the HP1000's

Drill your own.

Be 1337 like that.

Or get the BAER kit if you are that worried about having drilled rotors....I believe their BBK is drilled and slotted.
