Post Sun roof bezel broke, AGAIN. Now warranty is up.. Read

So that piece that goes around my sun roof button fell off again. Haven't touched it since the last time I had the dealership fix it. That was at about 34k miles, so it was under warranty no problem... Yesterday while I was driving I hit a pot hole, nothing major. Anyway, that piece fell off again. Now I am at 43k miles and I'm scared the dealership wont fix it again. But I'm looking at it like this, they fixed it once, and it broke. Makes me think they'll fix it because evidently they didn't do something right the first time..

What do you think?

super glue. and mine has never fallen out since. despite what you think, it still could come out with a good tug if it had to come off.

Me and my tech buddy JB welded that bitch into the piece it snaps into. Mine fell out 3 times, that was enough for me. A little dab of JB and never had a problem again.

i put two blobs of clear silicon on the plastic clips (not the part that touches the liner) and then stuck it up in the headliner. Taped it and let it sit for a day or so.

Been up there fine since then.

You have a P/N for that bracket???? Did the dealer say if there was a TSB for this issue? I'd go buy it and do the work myself just not to have to clean the headliner again.

TIA

Tom

Did the same thing, no problems. Making a special trip to the dealer for a little plastic piece you can just glue back in yourself is a waste of your time and your money in gas.

Silicon will hold it perfectly, yet if you need to take it off later you can just pull a little and get it off, if you super glue it you might just end up damaging it if you ever need to take it off again. You can get little squeeze tubes from the hardware store, if you don't have a caulking gun or a tube of silicon lying around.

Last time mine fell off (which was like the 4th time it had happened) they replaced mine with the new bracket. Mine hasn't fallen out since. I took the headliner down the look at the piece, and it is a major improvement over the crappy stock bracket that was in there from the factory.
