I spent at least 30 minutes searching for this using the search tool and I came up with nothing. So if this is here somewhere already I appologize, please point me to it.

People are just now getting their Solstices and we've got several companies working on various aftermarket parts and such for the car and engine. Since you guys have had you engines longer maybe one of you has figured this out. What size fuel injectors come stock with the 2.4L VVT ECOTEC?

LOL, we were looking at mine yesterday (a friend with a 2001 Grand Am GT running 14.1 N/A wants bigger injectors). Anyway, we couldn't tell the size or how many pounds it shot, but it looks to be the same size as the 3400 injector which is a 19psi injector.

 

physical size of the injectors are all pretty much the same


it is the internals that determin the size



the 2.4vvt's have only been out for the cobalts a very short time also

Yeah, I saw one on a truck at a dealership, but it wasn't being delivered there so I couldn't get a good look at it.

 

They started showing up to dealers for delivery the end of August. Almost all of the first 1000 promotional cars have been delivered or are on trucks/trains for delivery. I don't actually have mine yet, still waiting like everyone else.

a guy i know PDI'd 4 of them a week or so ago


sticker was 24k on the 1's he PDI'd

 

did some quick calculations they are probably a 21#, the same as a 99+ v6 mustang. weird size but i have a feeling thats what it is.

hehehe hey fly, yeah because I just joined over here not to long ago trying to get info on our beloved engine.

You could talk to your dealer, the GM tech documents might have the injector information. Only other suggestion really is to pull the actual injector to look at it and see if it has any info on it.

Well damn. I'll ask my Pontiac dealer next time I go in then and see if they can get an answer.

 

Ok a solsticeforum.com member pulled the plastic cover off their 2.4L VVT ECOTEC and got the parts numbers. The 2.4L VVT engine uses the exact same injectors as the 2.2L ECOTEC.

OK. So who knows how big those injectors are. I searched the forum and google for a while and got no answers.

 

i think they are 24lb injectors

 

24 sounds very possible to me... the motor requires 21's so 24's sound right
