Yeah, the track I go to isn't like norwalk in how they prep, that is for sure. Yeah, it takes practice, this track if I launched at 4k rpm, I would spin like a **** so I just keep trying to see how close to it I can get to launch.

A little spin can be advantageous. Too much is bad. As long as you aren't wheel hoppin, let her spin a bit, obviously don't burn the tires off, but if it spins, give it a chance to catch up to itself. Also, what are your mods and best slip? 60' and ET?

Mods are in sig. Hahn 3 inch catless downpipe and exhuast, hahn charge pipes, hahn, intake, hahn intercooler, and trifecta tuned. Bests, 2.22 60', 13.99 at 103.01 mph, I trapped 81 mph in the 8th mile on that run.

if people are promoting sub 13s runs with just a tune, and maybe a catless dp... what would the GM staged kit run? What mods further perk up the GM kit? Has anybody actually bought this thing yet??! It seems like nobody is commenting on it!

Because it's not officially out. Trifecta tune puts down more power than the stage kit. and only costs 1/3rd the total price.

I'm not nls'ing since I am tuned after seeing the horrow pictures Maven posted up on a thread I had started, so losing a little time on the shift probably. Just need to keep at it.
What did Maven say about NLSing when tuned?

AAHHH.. I thought it was out. Makes sense now.

So is the 290HP & 320tq confirmed for the GM kit? How is it making the power vs stock? Is there a mod that will wake it up even more?

It's for a business/company car so maintaining warranty and reliability would be really nice.

Since its not CARB approved yet, then, I doubt anyone has it installed. Some people have bought it, but are waiting on the CARB approved programming.

I've seen not to nls when tuned cuz the tranny can't handle all the extra torque. He posted a picture that looked like shrapnel and it was a piece of if I remember correctly, a chunk of third gear. My car only has 3700 miles on it so not trying to break the tranny on it.

I only use mine on the track now. I guess if the trans blows, I pray to god it only blows the internals and not the case, and I will be getting a new, cryo treated set in return, lol.

i know it isn't the greatest track, i been there. but variety is the spice of life. it's just cool
to go to different tracks and see different cars/people etc. you probably won't get your
best run there, but it's neat to say you raced there.

Yeah, thats the bad thing about nls'ing, it seems the only way you get faster times when at the track, I was half tempted to do it this past thursday but held back. I might try it once next time I am out to see how much of a difference it makes in the quarter mile.

See.. Now I'm confused. how are some people running 13.99 with these mods, but others with just a trifecta tune are running 12.75? I've gathered that a typical stock time is around 14.1-14.3s @ 99-101mph. What would a trifecta tuned car with a catless DP run typically?

My car with old Trifecta tune ran 13.4@106 with a K&N drop in.I will say, these cars take alittle skill and a lot of practice to launch.I agree with mkriebs, that just by throwing slicks or drag radials on your car your 60'ft times will be better. All the peolple I know that have tried this, after being terrible at launching on street tires, were no better on slicks or DR's

Yeah, driver mod is 90% of drag racing a FWD car. Hence why the majority of people prefer RWD... its easier to drag race. People criticize me for racing a FWD car, but what they don't understand is my FWD can still whoop their RWD cars ass.

i agree, i prefer to do my ass whooping on the street, where you can use you high hp fwd power,

the track does not reflect what a high hp fwd car can do, expecially on street tires

It can reflect it is the thing. You just have to compare apples to apples. I have a friend with a low 11 second SRT. Now, it makes about 500 hp. Granted, in RWD 500 hp would likely be a low 10 car, but were comparing apples to oranges there.

Yeah, our cars are beasts for top end power. Turbo spools up so fast if you're stock, and even faster with a tune. They're soooo nice. I can't wait till Vince can make the launch control changable.

quick question, how wide of street tires can you put on the front of this car on stock rims? 225? 235? 245?

What does it come with stock? 225? I looked on chevrolet.com and couldn't find it...
