2009 Cobalt ss shift pattern
2009 Cobalt ss shift pattern
So I recently bought myself a 2009 cobalt ss tc and I’m honestly pretty new to standard transmissions but to my knowledge I had thought 5th gear was over top of reverse (correct me if I’m wrong) but if someone could sketch up or just explain to me where every gear is stock on my car that would be awesome!
Directly under, but as AfterShok said, it has a locking ring to engage reverse so you have to pull up to put it into reverse.
If you're just learning manual, I would suggest NOT using a turbo powered car to learn under. Get a beater for that.

Alright thanks mine is 1-3 -5

so I was just wondering considering I’ve never driven or seen one like it. Aswell as it doesn’t have a ring to pull up for reverse so I have no clue what was done if someone knows what could have been done to it let me know.

If the car was swapped to an F23 transmission, you won't have a reverse lock-out anymore (I doubt this is the case, but anything is possible). The lock-out can be deleted from the F35 shifter, but it's a little bit of a hassle that most people find not to be worth it.
It is.
I was laughing at that earlier. Mine is worse in that the entire thing is crumbling like an old cookie. I purposefully didn't reinstall it after the STS install so that its particles didn't contaminate my fresh grease.
Post a picture. Pull your cupholders out, as well (pull up on the back portion, should pop right out)... and take a picture of the shifter cables connection to the black shifter base.
