Just curious if what the stock turbo on these? Is the k04 an upgrade?

There are many turbos you can get that are "upgrades". The r is the the most popular starting point for upgrades as it's only like $600. The borg Warner efr turbos sold by ZZP are direct Bolton type turbos but they are between $1900-2300. They can make big power if you want to upgrade with lots of other parts. Plus there are many precision and borg turbos along with the 2871 that can be used but you need to change some parts to make them work. Or you can do what Eric suggested and go 6262 with lots of mods and search for 600whp.

 

The question was upgrade, the 6262 is definitely an upgrade, a really really big upgrade.
