Cool Aah, Dealers - they are all the same, aren't they ?

I dropped the car off first thing this morning to have the erratic boost issue - my turn for the P0236/5 PSI boost that a few of us w/ GMS1 seem to be having. I decided to go to the dealer that installed the Stage kit instead of my usual dealer ( the selling dealer ) as I hoped that the "Kit guys" would have more knowledge about any issues re the kit, and to try something different. Plus, it seemed like the car did not have the same "oomph" after the selling dealer fixed the misfire SEL - to their credit, no more lights have come on from NLSing.

I had a 7:00 AM appt w/ Bobby - Bobby was not there at ~ 6:50 or so, so Richard wrote up the service order. I asked him how much deatil he wanted - he said to give him what I had. So, I told him Onstar gave me the P0236, and that I had pulled a P2188, gave some brief info about the prior service visit for the CEL & showed him the repair ticket, and gave him my cell # as a contact. I also mentioned that I was having some Onstar issues - something about an antenna circuit. No biggie, just get it looked at when it is convenient ( as per Onstar ) as opposed to the turbo code which they (Onstar) recommended I get looked at ASAP.

Caught a ride in the courtesy van, and was home by 7:15. Good, good !

No word at 3:00, so I call - found out via Bobby was a she via voicemail, and tried to talk to a live body. Got put on hold, asked if I was still OK holding ~ 10 minutes later, then after that someone picked up the phone, attempted to dial out in my ear, then hung up on me. I was holding for Richard, the guy that wrote me up.

Call back, and say screw it - I'll leave a VM for Bobby. A fairly long, detailed VM , but polite, including home & cell #'s.

2 hours later - no answer . I call back - Bobby is gone for the day, and apparently so is Richard.

The guy that I spoke to has a hard time finding my car info - how many White SS Sedans could you possibly have in for service today ? but finally does.

Well, they took care of the steering column recall , even though I did not get a letter about parts, and did not ask them about it , but as far as he could see no work - or no mention of diagnosis - had occured on the problems I mentioned.

I have to call back tomorrow and talk to a different guy who is there on Saturdays, although I can't see them being able to get a sensor ( if needed ) tomorrow, and they certainly could not get ahold of GM technical if needed as I know you can't get a Stage kit flash done on Saturdays.

So, - cliffs notes :

A whole day shot with no word from the dealer , but something I did not care about and DID NOT ASK THEM TO DO ! was done.

I GUARANTEE ! that the recall job paid more and was thus done first ...

What a bunch of maroons - I don't think I have met a single service write that knew **** about cars, and their frigging job involves explaining problems found , and solutions required, to customers.

Maybe tomorrow I will find something out that will help us all w/ this issue, and possibly get the car back - I think my odds are greater at winning the powerball, however.

D'OH !

Thanks for listening -

Britt

Seems like they need to send there writers to the GM service writer course. Rule #1 they teach Fix the main concern before anything else.

I am not surprised at all. Hopefully they get to it. Keep pressing them or your car will just sit there. If they didn't put you in a rental, they're not losing any money by keeping your car there.

Sounds like the last time I put my car in. Dropped it off at like 10am. Didnt hear anything all day. Finally decided to call them at like 4ish only to find out that the writer could not be located. Left him a message. Called back at 5 or 6 and theyre like oh all the writers have gone home for the day. Im like wtf. So I ask if they can tell me the status of my car and they cant because its someone elses file and they cant look into it. BS

Thats not right at all. We do about 100 cars a day at my dealer and there is no way we would let a customer not being able to get all the info they want about the status of there vehicle.

oh and i can vouch that the P/S recall actually doesnt pay ****, we get paid .6-.7 hrs for it, just 2 bolts and a harness under the steering column
