Why is everybody all excited?
THREE more months for a god damn intake?!?!?!?!
Are you kidding me?
I am on the Superchips website right now about to pull the trigger.....15 hp? I am about to throw my PC out the window....talk about being held hostage by the god damn parts people!!! What is SO HARD? The kit came out for Solstice and HHR in like no time, they are seeing way higher gains than 15hp? That is truly PATHETIC...

I think it's all around horrible news.

be about 5-600 for stage 1 and 250-300 for stage 2. then a couple hours of install.

Does anyone have any concrete pricing right now??? Seems like a lot of speculation. I agree the numbers aren't great but until we have the full rundown of the kit and its costs, we have to wait and see. Some more...

No I'd say my guess is low.

Take a look on Crate Engine Depot's website.

They have stage kits for the solstice and HHR and a solstice intake. Let's just say. It's high. They want 375 for an intake. NO WAY

I must say that I am shocked.....15 hp?.....it is just a total waste of money

Glad I didn't wait around for it, but I certainly didn't expect it to produce numbers THAT low.

That is just horrible news - unbelievable.

So what is next - research aftermarket tuners and intakes?

What a goat rodeo this is..
A Stage kit boasting a 15HP gain isn't even worth the reading about...

Does it come with "LNF Stage: FAIL" badging ?

Hey good on GM for offering something, you basically paying that money for the sensors and to remove the learn down feature. The 15hp (crank) is hardly going to be noticable....

Would I would appreciate is a post mortem on the design phase of this stage kit. Would be interesting to read a candid article behind what took them so long.

Low numbers, but they are probably underated. Look at the LSJ GM stage 2s, they advertise 245crank hp, but realistically people are hitting 235+ to the WHEELS with them.

So whats the word, are they going to be using another OS or not? And if so will that affect HPTuners at all? So 275, but it didn't say anything about a reflash for the intake with stage 2, so we might be looking at the original guess of 290 with our aftermarket intakes?

OH MY GOD PEOPLE!

First, there is no fueling issue, its a tuning issue. We need to be able to tune for a higher volume. Our injectors are the equivalent of like 1k cc. Thats pretty damn big.

Second. Sensors without the GM ECM OS tweaks are worthless. We have had access to the GM 3 bar map sensors since our cars came out. the problem is, the OEM operating system in the computer won't scale the 3 bar correctly.

Third. 15 hp for $500+install is horrible. I seem to feel that this is nothing to be excited about.

I believe you are 100% correct. Most of the power will be gained after the air intake side is opened up. Those with aftermarket intakes will see good increases because their will no longer be a learn down, plus the car will be slightly tuned to use more of this air.

So basically it comes down to this...If you're looking for BIG numbers (400whp+) you NEED the stage kit. If not then aftermarket tuning will be a much better bang for the buck. I for one donr plan on going for huge numbers and just like the daily driver it is. Plus I probably wont have the car that long so the GMPP kit...kind of a huge waste of dough for me.

They took the "Stage Kit" and divided it up into two kits.

In a nutshell:

Stage 1: New 3bar sensors and a reflash to correctly read the new sensors. (275hp)
Stage 2: The above plus a new intake/filter assembly. (290hp)
Learn down is "disabled".

Stage WTF: Stage 1 + aftermarket intake, cp, dp + tune.

It's all marketing my friend. They need to get something out to satisfy the people following this and it was what they came up with. They would have been better to announce the first one as a "Pre-Stage" or "Prep Kit" and then call the full kit with the intake as Stage 1...

^^^ This guy has the formula.

This is what everyone, myself included, did for the LSJ Stage 1 kit.

Think about it, if you have an intake when you get the Stage 1 kit, don't you automatically have the Stage 2 kit and therefore 290hp?

True but it doesn't sound like there will be a second tune for Stage II. Sounds like Stage II will simply improve airflow, therefore freeing up the HP.

Again, all speculation until both kits are fully for sale...

They have a tentative late June date for Stage I.
