Question Any tips getting upper charge loose from turbo?

I need to do a boost leak test, so trying to get the upper charge off at the turbo.

I've got the nut on the clamp all the way out and it's loose all the way around. Disconnected the PCV line on the intake, just so I don't bust it off. I have the clip off on the plastic part of the pipe on the drivers side of the engine to give me more wiggle room. I'm tryin to pull this beast off but it's not budging. Any tips from the pros?

Thanks in advance.

A little heat, not a lot. Hell could probably just warm it up with a test run.

Wiggle, shimmy, shake, etc. Could be careful with a flathead screwdrivers and pry it up a bit to get it started.

Yeah a set of picks might help get started.

I do remember that being unduly ridiculous. Be careful with the pick though, last thing you want to do while testing for a boost leak is to cause another one!

Twist and pull, if that doesn't work find a friend that is stronger than you.

Got it! The "twist" was critical. This morning I gave it another go, tried twisting it right then left, and it finally broke lose! Pulled it and it popped right off, easy peasy.

Now to build the jig for the boost test, off to home Depot!
