They did it on my car, I had Hahn DP and catback, Injen CAI and CP, and custom tune. I don't know, it may be up to the dealer but you should be ok

They can't not do the recall unless maybe you have a modified power pump?

It's an electric motor, not a pump. They shouldn't need to be digging around your car for mods, but they probably will see air filters and charge pipes and other visible mods. As for a tune, they don't need to test-drive it, so I wouldn't worry about that.

I haven't had mine done either, I never had an issue with it. If it works, don't fix it.

My '07 G5 GT did once in a while on startup, but not the Cobalt.

when i brought mine into the local dealer, i told them i had wires running around the pump (off to the sides so they could get to the pump) and to watch out for them cause they run to various aftermarket parts. They said that was fine.

So you should be fine lol

Just curious, what dealership was that? I bought my 08 SS/TC in Lousiville, OH and they went out too.

I also have a good friend that lives in your town, he is an air traffic controller for Cleveland airport.

I wonder if they test ride to check the steering, if he hits 22lbs of boost you may get snagged..

If they're pushing it to where it hits 22lbs of boost checking the power steering, they're abusing the car. They should barely get it into boost if they do a test drive. They won't do a test drive anyway, te only test they need to check it is pulling it out of the shop and parking it. Also, wether you have warranty or not, they HAVE to do the recall.

The power steering has nothing to do with your mods. They have no reason not to do it.

I like how everyone gets so paranoid about the dealership and mods that have absolutely nothing to do with whats being fixed lol. If you had a blown engine or tranny, then they would probably check.

That's not true. The dealership DOES NOT have to do anything. It's up to the dealership if they want to work on any vehicle.

As for warranty, the dealership can look at the vehicle and if they see any modifications the can look at the rest of the car. To protect themselves they can refuse to work on it because of the mods.

That might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. It's a recall, meaning that Chevrolet admitted there is something wrong with their model and if the dealership is GM certified then they have to do it.

I guess you don't know much about dealerships and warranty. Chevrolet HAS to fix it because it's a recall. The dealership can refuse any work. It don't matter if it's a warranty job or not. There's a difference between CHEVROLET/GENERAL MOTORS and a dealership.

I know this information because I've been working at a GM dealership for 16 years. It is a GM certified dealership for Chevrolet/GMC/Buick/Cadillac.

Think about the electric power assist repair this way - what if you scheduled the appointment, took the car to the dealership to perform the recall work and they refused, and then the assist motor failed as you left the dealership? The liability for not doing the repair work is rather steep.

Its very unlikely that they're going to care about your engine mods when they do the motor recall - if anything, the techs will probably point and talk a little smack, but they're not interested in the condition of your warranty in this case.
