You aren't the only one , It's about the only thing worthy of my money right now to say the least.

It's just too soon to jump on the Mustangs band wagon. I mean this cars been pretty damn reliable for how hard I've beaten it bolted and tuned. Now on E85 I think this car is a much better fit for me..

I think the Stang would eat your wallet pretty good in every direction ..

Gas , Mods , Insurance, car note , then if it breaks you're out even more. 8 pistons vs 4 etc .

It adds up pretty quick but definitely tempting!

Got an email today saying the 2013 GT500 is coming with either a turbo'd 5.0 or 5.8L making 650hp. It's for the zl1.

Not if you're married with no accidents or tickets. The Wife and I pay alittle over $100 per month for full coverage on the LNF and the 05 GT.

I've been told by 3 insurance companies that the SS/TC is rated either at, or one notch lower then the base Corvette for insurance purposes.

That being said, I still pay very little for it, but I'm 29, married, 0 tickets and accidents, multi car, homeowners, and motorcycle discount.

They make bolt on supercharger kits for the new 5.0 now. 650HP on stock internals. That's crazy and would easily be an 11 second car. The kits are 5 grand for everything, including the tune to go with it.

I went shopping for a 2011 GT about 6 months ago. I test-drove a couple and really wanted one, but they're just out of my budget, realistically. I could afford one, sure, but my idea of "afford" isn't what it was 15 years ago, when I was 25.

And the same dealership he bought his GT500 from just got another in the same color scheme for the same price with 16,000 miles on it.

The 5.0 is a great car, but without a tune the throttle response is terrible. I test drove a stock one with 3.73 gears and then drove my friends 5.0 that also had 3.73 gears, but also had a tune. And I can't not emphasis enough how big of a difference a tune makes on that cars drivability.
Wait...he bought it from a DEALER with an off-road X-pipe? Isn't that....illegal?

Yes they are, but some dealerships don't care. They could get in trouble if it was inspected, but I don't see it happening.

Hmm...Interesting. I thought they couldn't even sell a car that wouldn't pass emissions testing. Oh well.

Side note: I have crazy heart burn/indigestion/something terrible going on inside of me.

Considering the 5.0's go mid to low 12s showroom stock, and I have seen maybe 2-3 Cobalts even crack off a high 12, let alone something lower... I would say the 5.0 keeps up plenty well. Put a tune and radial on, you're in the 11's.

The MT82 Manual 6 Speed problem is way over-rated and blown out of proportion. Don't let that steer you away from a manual car if that is what you really want. If drag racing is your thing though, I would take that 6 speed auto any day.

i drove a '11 gt manual (less than a 100 miles on it) and could barly get into 1st and second on every shift even once it warmed up, i told the salesman riding with me someone in service should look at this. the '12 was only slightly better. the auto i drove today actually shifted nice as far as autos go, ive never owned a automatic car since ive been driving. im passing on either of the new mustangs, they are not impressive performance wise to me at all.

Technically they can't, but I'm sure they know that if they do and get caught they could get in alot of trouble.

Yeah we pay like 115 or so maybe less now I'd have to look ...

I know for sure a Mustang coupe with a 5.0 vs 2.0 is going to be more on insurance .

A lot of insurance companies do a break down by the liter to weight ratio.
