I'm in the "hated it" group. I bought one from a Pick-and-Pull for 10 bucks. It installed fine, but the e-brake handle thing pissed me off and I felt like it was in the way of my arm movement when shifting. I drove around with it flipped up for a while before I realized I just need to ditch it.

Thanks. That's exactly why I was asking. On some cars its just in the way even if its not right next to the shifter.

Would love the extra storage space (these cars have tiny glove box)

But e-brake stretches out so fast on these cars, and from what SSlobalt just said I'll steer clear.

There's really not much storage space in the arm rest, anyway.

what color does the arm rest come in? Is it brown or black? I see brown on the illustration but can black be chosen?

beige (base model only colour) & ebony (aka: black) are the colours you can get.

I'm wondering if torso length has much to do with unsatisfied users, I'm 6'2 and haven't had any problems shifting with my new arm rest in. I just tightened my e-brake while the console was off and everything is good to go. Takes a little getting used to but I hardly notice the difference anymore.

I love mine, as all I have to yank my ebreak up passed where the arm rest sits, but thats cool w me. best thong ive ever done to my car. And, I only spent $10 on it because I was smart and went to a junk yard, pulled it out of an LS.

If you pull one get the rear cupholder piece also. The original rear cupholder piece from a coupe with no armrest won't work once you install the armrest.

^^^ to one up that;
you need the:
- armrest assembly
- rear cup holder
- armrest base (large aluminum piece that the armrest bolts to)
- four (black) armrest base mounting bolts
- two (silver) armrest mounting bolts

Just an FYI.

My G5 came with one. Never had a problem with the ebrake or trying to shift.

I ordered the kit from Gm parts direct. Will it include everything for the install?

although I'd prefer to read that you ordered from CED (a site supporter);
If you ordered the 'kit' - then it should have everything.

c/w worse customer service, as well as someone who does not financially support this site.

Got the armrest and the cover installed. I opted for the black with the red stitch. Looks f'n awesome and it should be a lot more comfortable!
