Best tires & rims for Drag Racing?

I would like to find the best package for Drag racing. They need to be driven there and fit over the stock brakes on a turbo Car?
Thanks Chuck

The best and your needs don't work together.

The best will cost you a bunch of money and would probably consist of some custom 9-10" wide wheels + slicks. Next best thing would be to pick up some SS NA 17" Wheels some spacers and some drag radials.

Now that is what I am talking about
What size and type of DR are best. I would like to get into the 12's. My car is modded to around 300 whp
I have also Heard that the wheel hop is partly caused by stiff short side walls. So how tall a tire can you put in there?

Ps Even though I usually don't put spacers on drive tire in drag racing.

THe best would be 15 inch centerline storms with a 24.5 m and h slick. But to get in the 12's, you can do it on a nice street tire with some practice. A drag radial would be good as well, but there is not a good choice in our tire size.

Not a chance. That is just the best option. 17's are the smallest that will fit, and you need spacers with most of them.

take a look at the link ^^ I run a 17 rim with slicks. I found out that I did not need the wheel spacers.

Good luck

hahahaha but that is the only slick that will fit a 17in rim and that tire is hard to find. it is the ONLY slick u can run with the stock breaks.

bike slick or not I cut a 1.85 60ft with it and I think this year a 1.80-1.79 is looking good
I will need a better clutch and WOT box for that

I second the motorcycle slicks on 17s idea. Well, I guess I would be third or fourth to recommend them.

I am gonna try some 17 inch wheels and BFG g-force T/A drag radials. IF they don't do it for next season then i will try the MT motorcycle slicks.

The motor is together. Have been real busy with school, but I should at least be able to get it back on the cradle and under the car this weekend. That's the goal anyway.
