blew map sensor ??'s
I just blew another within 2 weeks of getting one installed. It happens at cold start. THe engine idles funny for a second, then bam, blown map sensor. It has nothing to do with boost levels. It has happend this way both times. I hope they get a goodone in there next friday.
I have a hhr with a blown map sensor also. The dealer told me they needed to order a new ecm, guess this is what happened to mine also. I've even used write entire with the stock tune, with a new map in the manifold. Guess I just have to wait on the dealer to let me know when whatever gets in, then they'll have to get a new map too I'm sure.
the dealers service manual thing has something in that that says not matter what the MAP testing reads, replace ECM. it's a GM typo. the tech who replaced mine showed me the troubleshooting printout from GM, and we both agreed on the typo. he then called GM and they acknowledged it was a typo. so when they say it's the ECM tell them to call GM and get it straight, cause it's the MAP sensor.
I have 09 cobalt ss and it threw U0073, p0010,p0101, p0300 and p0304. Im not getting any boost at all and car is running like ****. Smells like its dumping to much fuel. I replace MAF sensor. Any other idea's? could this be a MAP? Im running 23 lbs boost
You're not running 23 lbs anymore. Now you're running five and you have a giant boost leak. See my sig for details on how to run a boost leak test. If you're on the stock IC, you likely cracked it after letting off WOT at 23psi. Did you hear a "pssshhhh!?"
Mine is under warranty and at dealership right now. They were thinking maf or map sensor. I'm going to call in the morning and suggest ic. Wish they would put aftermarket one in but don't see that happening.
They basically informed me that an aftermarket IC wouldn't be covered under a warranty, since it isn't their IC. I was like "That's fine. That makes sense.", and they installed the IC I supplied without any issues with it. I'm summarizing a lot, but those are the main points. It basically boils down to the dealer. Some are okay with things like that, and some aren't.
Looking forward to an update!

Well my car has been at the dealership for a week and a half. I suggested that they test the intercooler and see if it is messed up. They said it was just fine. Today they told me they think that it is the internal fuel pump that is draining fuel into my crank case. I will know in the morning if it fixed the problem or not. I dont know that this will fix the issue I was having of no boost and the codes I threw. We will see. I will update
UPDATE- My car is still at the dealership. They have tested the intercooler, replaced map, maf, internal fuel pump, PCM, and still do no have it fixed. Yesterday they said they were on the phone with GM tech support but last time I had talked to them they still havent figured anything out. This is getting rediculous. I had the car 2 weeks exactly before this happened. They have had my car for 2 and a half weeks now.
