The gt2871 is rated right at that power level.

I heard back from Brian at BNR racing yesterday. I told him to add me to his list to be notified
For those that don't know he has done factory turbo hybrids for other platforms of cars with great results.

The email I received:

"Right now I am working on jigs, and CAD drawings to make this conversion happen. I am doing all the machine work with CNC machines, so every tolerance will be a perfect fit. This set up is what takes the most time so hang in there!

I don't know if you are on my call/email list for LNF upgrades. I need your name, email addy and telephone number. When I get the machined turbine housing in my hand I will contact everyone on the list for the update! From there it is down hill!"

Need to get one from the same place as HHRSouth. He got his for super cheap even though it seems it is a little different than our KKK-04. For these purposes thoug as long as the flanges and hookups are all the same it does not matter what wheels it has in it.

Exactly, you take your turbo out and bolt on these upgraded ones, 100% bolt-on turbo.

His might not be a GM core because it has Mitsubishi stamped on the exhaust flange. I do not think our KKK-04 has that stamped on it anywhere.

Well, just because it's GM specific doesn't mean it isn't farmed out. I mean, look at all the other TC specific parts that are out sourced. Like some of the rubber parts in the charge piping. Stamped with AEM right on them. Same with all the turbo parts, although I will admit I'm surprised to see the Mitsu stamp on a flange with a Triple K turbo. Very weird...

i just mean that if it's the right flange it should be the right turbo since no other turbos .. aside from GM turbos use that flange

If that is truely a GM specific KKK-K04 then they must have used a different manufacturer. There doesn't look to be any BorgWarner emblems stamped anywere

Just look at it how could it not be . It is the new Regal GS turbo. Same thing a little different hardware...

Some guy who works at one of the plants said his dad seen a huge pallet of these things sitting in the stock room with Mitsubishi on the big box. This was a month back or more.

GM has Mitsubishi building them ... it has been figured out now..

I saw AEM stamped on my stock CPs. You would think AEM could have made a better CP mine stress cracked with only 6K miles on my car and the rubber hose had a small hole in it right at the turbo outlet.

I guess the new regal LNF is using a TD-04 of some type because that is what he found on the housing.

Also don't forget the wastegate flap opens the opposite direction of the current Borg Warner LNF K04, and the BPV/BPV flange is totally different on the Mitsubishi variant I have.

Mitsubishi building the turbos is totally believable. GM has used them before. All the TD06's on the Syclones & Typhoons are Mitsu turbos.
