I was wondering the same thing. I cant find any blow ups or documentation on the engine.

Okay cool. Well the one that blew out on me was the one between the exhaust mani and spacer, not spacer to turbo mani. I guess just dont do WOT run after run lol

But, depending on how hard you push it, you WILL have to replace them at some point. Its just a good idea.

Both of my BNR copper gaskets for the spacer on each side had tears in them.

Ouch. You have a leak or something that made you chek it out or just an inspection of the install and you found that they were bad?

Nope mine wasn't leaking yet but it very well could have soon.

I de-modded the HHR SS and traded it in on a 2011 Regal CXL Turbo.

Thats how I found the 2 tears in the gaskets when swapping out turbo's.

FWD, Buick Regal???? If they would have come out with AWD like they had said before then i would hav considered. Other than that I don't see the Regal doing all that well in the real world. The only thing I think they'll be useful is figuring out what parts we can pull off the motor for our LNF's.

So you would have went out dumped money on a starting MSRP of $34k for the AWD Regal model? That was the projected starting price for the base AWD.
Yeah right

GLW finding someone to help you find what LHU parts fit the LNF

I'll be doing the opposite.

The only thing that I have heard was that up top it seems like these turbo's for a quick second like to taper off a little(blip building power in higher RPM's). Its only for a second but its been seen on not one but several cars. Didn't discourage me though from getting the Turbo. Just ordered mine a few hours ago. Hopefully on E85/91 mix I can make 375+ in my Sky Redline.

When I get my Cobalt SS/TC Sedan at the beginning of next year/spring if there is still no ZZP EFR Hybrid turbo out, I will definetly pick up another BNR 2871GT and Tial Q BOV for it.

Can't wait around for a product (ZZP EFR hybrid) to maybe come out some time in the next 5 years.

I have not had any issues with mine. Its been a great little upgrade for me and it makes the car quick. Any issues that I have had are not turbo related but engine related. Just little things here and there. She is running strong though

I do recommend you recirc the BOV though. Im getting tired of the rich spikes during cruise while making tiny throttle adjustments. Its annoying.

It depends man. If its flutter or surge? In any case, you should not have either. Thats the whole point of recirculating the blown off air back into the intake. Tweaking the BOV takes time to get it right. Thankfully, I got the GReddy Type RZ that is adjustable on the fly so I was able to tweak mine until I got it perfect without messing with different types of springs.

Also, once you get her tuned you will be able to take care of any surging you are having.

You could also fix the rich spike via a MAF relocate to the LICP if you want an VTA BOV.

Thats the main reason I got a MAF relocate myself, the VTA BOV was annoying during cruise control operation.

LOL Yeah, tell me about it. As far as the relocate, Im not too keen on blowby and the like building up on the MAF. Our MAFs are already touchy as it is. Im probably making it seem worse than it is. Im just afraid of going through MAFs every year. The VTA is awesome though.
