Bouncing rpms, check engine light, Weird smell.

I've looks all over the forums too see what the problem could be so far I have found nothing. I was driving down the highway with my mom and my balt started to bounce the rpms like hell. The check engine light came on, and I could smell this horrible smell comming from god knows where. It was freaking the crap out of me. I'm taking it to a chevy dealer on thursday to see what the heck is going on. I'm posting this today to see if I can figure out what is wrong. I think its just a bad sensor. If anyone can shed some light on this subject I would much appreciate it, I know the SS community is smart and knows what they are talking about.
Thanks!

Bring it to your local auto parts store and have then check the code for you. would be a great start at finding the issue.

did you run over an animal and it got caught in your engine belts? That would make a gross smell and bounce your RPMs.

Or maybe a cat went and hid in your engine bay?
