I doubt it's a bad bpv solenoid. It only happens when it's cold right after starting it the first time for the day. I seems more like the bpv is just sticking then I boost and it breaks it free. I don't know. I am running the yellow spring. I'm gonna go put the green spring in and see if that helps.

It doesn't always say engine power reduced. Done my fair share of limp mode :P

That just doesn't make sense to me. Why would it be called limp "mode" if it reduces power for one pull and not the next. How did you come to this conclusion?

I wonder if my evap purge solenoid is the reason it did that for me. Once it a while, while I'm just cruising. The car will feel like it jumps a little bit for a second. The boost gauge drops a bit while this happens. I've read a bunch of post saying that they changed their evap purge solenoids and it was fine.

Long early morning drives to work 90% in limp mode. No engine power reduced. After shift on the way back car runs flawlessly. Thank god those days are over. Didn't want to pass another car incase it put itself into limp mode randomly.

If it doesn't say it then the PCM didn't command it.

Something else was the problem.

Limp mode without the "pwr reduced" message appearing is 100% possible. Limp mode without a dash light appearing is 100% possible. Trust in cobalt.
