Brembo Brakes

Has anyone had trouble with the Brembo brakes on their TC? I have a 2009 TC silver sedan with only 7000 miles.

In the last week or so the brakes have been spongy. Last week and then today, when I would go to use the brakes, the pedal would go to the floor. To get them back I would have to pump them. They would start to work, but be spongy.

When I got home and looked at the rotors, I could see the rust on the passenger front from sitting at work. It appears that the caliper is either sticking or something. I talked to the dealership, and I will be taking it in on Saturday for them to look at and inspect.

I am just wondering if anyone else has had any problems or weird occurances with the Brembo's.

Thanks.
Bill

I bled mine this year for a similar reason. I had a lot of air in the front, passenger side, inside. (two bleeders per caliper on the front)
Problem was solved.
Mine didn't feel as bad as you describe but just more pedal travel than I thought should be there.

rust or other visible marks of where the pads rests on the rotor after sitting for as little as overnight is perfectly normal.

Take it to the dealer, dont mess around with the brakes on a 7000 mile car. It sounds like it needs a master cylinder, but a bad EBCM/BPMV inst out of the question.

Everyone, thanks for the replies.

I do believe that I have air in the lines, as I know that spongy brakes is usually from that. I have had this car since August, and it only has shown up now. Usually things like this don't take that long. When I bought the car new, the brake were nice and tight. When I would hit the brakes hard on my way home, you could tell that the fronts were not working like normal. The front would not grab, but you could feel the rear brakes working.

I also think that the master cylinder is going south, as this is similar to that when my old car had that problem. I watch the rotors to see how the look after driving. My car sits outside, so I know that rotors will get a thin film of rust on them. They were also spreading salt all over the parking lot at work.

The weather in Ohio has been fun lately, this morning we had at least 2 inches of heavy snow when I left for work and the roads were not plowed. The highways were nasty and not plowed either. Both times that it has done this, it was after a good snow. I also have Blizzaks for winter, the Conti's were bad when it started to get cold.

Ya, the dealer will get the car on Saturday, as I did speak to them about this. They have taken good care of me so far.

Thanks

there is a thread in the suspension/brake section concerning the swap. Yes you can but the Brembo Calipers won't clear the SS/SC Stock wheels.
