Brembo caliper fading
Brembo caliper fading
Has anyone had this problem? My left caliper Brembo logo is fading but is just fine on the right side. I want to powder coat them but am reading a lot of people saying its not a good idea on used calipers.

Is that side of the car parked where it is more exposed to the sun? Does the rotor and/or pad on the side show any signs of overheating from sticking or dragging over time? Have you used any harsh chemical wheel cleaner on the wheels?
It might just be normal wear and tear over time but difficult to tell why is your other one is perfect. If you decide to remove them and have them professionally powder coated you might see if the factory finish is going to be a problem (it looks to be an anodizing process). And if you do decide to paint them yourself with a brush-on kit make sure to stress the prep work and start with the cleanest caliper possible as that will help the coating adhere best and last the longest.

I know the calipers are able to be powder coated. I do a lot of work for a powder coater in town and maintain their fleet so he gives me a pretty good deal on powder. They claim to have done calipers before but I've been reading a lot about not doing used calipers.
I am definitely getting new ones. I m in the process of doing the conversion for my Ion and will use these and get new ones coated. Have too many projects going in lol. All as soon as I'm done moving into our bigger house soon.
