Bypass valve issue?

I was thinking that he might. I'll check the solenoid and the lines tomorrow morning. I can't get into the shop this weekend so if the weather is good I'll pop the Forge off. Disassemble, inspect, and clean it then put it back on. If I don't find anything I'll try Mongo and see if he has a stocker I can buy from him and see where that takes me. I'm making plenty of boost and it holds it - right up to about 5,500 rpm. I think you guys are right. Gotta be something up with that valve.
Thank you guys for the help. I'll keep you updated.

Solenoid is plugged in securely. Vacuum line secure, clear, unkinked. Did a slow gradual roll up with no boost up to 6,500 with no boost and it was clean and smooth. I think I'm going to have to pull that Forge off this weekend and inspect it. Supposed to be great weather this weekend.

Can't be anything else, can it? I mean I have inspected everything except that and the lower map which is awfully close to the fan with this tuboxs pipe. I'll be giving that a good inspection too, just to be complete and thorough.

No issue. I slowly ran it right up to over 6k. Smooth. Repeated it, the second time doing it hard enough to require boost, same issue.
The tune hasn't changed at all. I don't even have a cable to do so. Could it be something that the weather change has caused. Maybe but I think Term knows how way around a tune pretty well.
The Forge was R+R within the last month so in my mind that demand a double check of my work there. The lower 3bar sensor is very very close to the fan shroud. I was planning to get a new lower pipe because I've been concerned about that. I'll give it a thorough check tomorrow. I haven't had time and daylight to really inspect everything under the hood but this weekend I will for sure.
You're using synthetic grease for the bpv, aren't you?

It almost sounds like either the Pressure Boost Limit isn't high enough, or one of the Overboost/Underboost tables wasn't tweaked. I asked if you had it last winter because now that the air is colder, you will likely make more boost faster.
Ask Term to take a look. This is something that is difficult to find without logs. Sticking by tune or sensor issue.

Ok, I'll look at everything mechanical that I can this weekend. 2 weeks from now I'll be back in Florida and I'll try to set something up with him to run some logging.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Also, if you have a forge valve with the angled 90 degree nipple, it is threaded and can come loose causing a leak. Just a thought.

Well, at this juncture I'm thinking that I am my own worst enemy. Remember that I posted somewhere long the in here that I'd serviced the Forge recently? I guess that was a misnomer. OVER serviced is more like it.
So much grease. What was I thinking?
I cleaned the MAPs and then took off the K+N and the Forge.
When I removed the Forge I found the piston on the unit was stuck UP. I had to tap it with my finger a few times for the spring to be able to push it back down. This can't be good, huh? So, I cleaned it again thoroughly and just put a small film of grease inside the barrel of the housing where the O-rings ride, making sure not to get any on the end. Piston runs up and down niiiiiice and smooth now. Put it all together and I'm about to go for a spin to test it.
Wanna bet the car runs better now?
I also noticed the slightest film of oil inside the end of the K+N where it goes into the turbo coupler. Not enough to get upset over, but enough to be concerned. John's PCV drainback setup was already on my TODO list. It just got bounced up a spot or two.
I'll post results after I run for coffee and give the car a bath and some wax.

I was just typing out a followup!
So, car pulls to the top with boost now. Holds it all the way up, no problem.
But ... Instead of the normal rock steady 25 lbs it only pulls 18. And tons of K.R. This car never pulled timing before but geez. Once it's up to temp just letting out the clutch it pulls back 2.7. Goose the throttle a little in neutral and .7.
Never experienced that before. I'm guessing boost leak but that's a total guess based no nothing more than thinking that I had the MAPS, MAF, intake and Forge off the car.

No codes. Been driving it for 2 days. A few hard pulls but mostly just driving it. Stop and go kind of stuff watching the K.R. Driving highway or steady speed doesn't pull timing. It's letting out the clutch from a stop with light throttle that does it. hard on the throttle doesn't retard at all.
tune. talk to term. these cars in colder weather pull like a ****, and with winter rvp gas its not good at all/at all. My wntrbtr2 pulls like a John Force funny car these cold mornings, i love it, but the fact is stock tunes are fail safe. Edgy tunes are more problematical. So drive easy and get onto term toot sweet.
PS the pcv will fix that oil but pay attention because my guess is with detonation you are getting a lot more blow by and that is not good. You need undamaged piston rings and ring lands.

I'm heading down there the 15th. I'll try to book an appointment with him. This weekend I'm going to take everything apart again, just to satisfy my mind that I left nothing leaking.

Eh, GMS1, term 2, Trifecta. Had em all, never had an issue with them till I decided it was time to service the Forge. I've nobody else to blame but me.

no, I was planning on it but I'm getting to where things slip my mind rather easily. I will now. It'll tell you though, it's difficult for me to go back to a diaphragm after all those extremely cold winter days replacing the transfer pump diaphragms on my B model cat. Freezing cold blowing snow and diesel fuel all over you. Kinda traumatizes you a little. That stuff sticks with you forever.
