Exclamation car accident when i fell asleep...

I fell asleep at about midnight and at 330am my wife noticed a loud noise and than a lot of flashing lights. My car was rear-ended. the passenger rear tire is flat and pushed in on an angle about an inch. i don't have pictures yet but i will have them up after i get everything figured out in the morning. My car moved a good 2 feet from the collosion with the tranny in first gear and parking brake engaged. would this also cause damage to my car?

For a second there I though you fell asleep while driving. LOL. N E ways bro, that sucks hope it works out for ya. Was it a hit and run or was the perpetrator on the scene, I assume he/she was drunk. I mean to be able to move a car that's in gear and with the e-brake on.... That had to be one hell of a hit.

Damn dude that sucks. My guess would be that if the car got moved 2 feet while in 1st gear then ur trans most likely suffered sum damage. the ebrake will be ok because who doesnt drift around turns sometimes haha. But yeah hopefully all works out for you man

Yeah, if the trans case is cracked, you need a new tranny. Depending upon severity of damage (frame, tranny, etc.) your car COULD be totaled.

So it was a 70yr old lady driving a 2011 Rav4. She was doing well over the speed limit to which her airbag deployed. My wife woke up and saw the suv sideways in the road and then went back to sleep, i never woke up to the crash. A lot of sirens and lights show up and i went down to see what happened. Her car is totalled and my car got pushed about 10 feet. The front bumper acted like a shovel and picked up dirt while being moved, the Synapse Turbo intercooler got slanted back on the bottom. A boost leak is definite. The gas tank is leaking, the torsion beam is bent, rear passenger tire is flat, the passenger side rear suspension is all tweaked. No damage to glass though. So far the dealership has told me that at just looking at it, its hard to tell if the car is totalled due to "still being worth so much". Anyways heres a pic:

Another one bites the dust... Sorry to hear that. Maybe you can get an actual fast car now

As bad as it sounds, I'd say hope its totaled.. I doubt the car will ever be the same after that.

Ouch, that picture hurts my eyes. Remember to tell them to look at the clutch since you did have it in gear when the old lady hit your car.

I'll put my title on the Cobalt that the frame is bent on that car. I had a less sever impact on my previous cobalt ss/tc and the frame was bent.

Don't ever let the insurance adjuster have the final say in the quote. The body shop will find more things to repair, guaranteed. Mine did.

Also, if the car somehow isn't totaled, I would also make a claim for the diminished value of the car due to it now having an accident reported on it. You file this through the woman's insurance carrier who she belongs to.

Definite bent frame. Here's what happens when you have a bent frame

And your tires will pay for it for ever. You guys thought the SST/C goes through tires quickly now? Wait till you get that car back on the road...

P.S.> that cars not totalled. Its about 8000-9000 in damage. maybe alittle over 10,000 at most.

I'd put $ on it Joseph that it is! I've worked in that industry for 3 years. Do you know how much it costs to try to straighten a frame alone?!
