Charge pipe recall - Are they supposed to change the pipe itself?

I got my car in for the power steering recall and charge pipe. I specifically asked the tech if he got the charge pipe recall done, he said yessss sir.

Well I got back home and checked that pipe --> It's the same pipe I had before.
Is this recall just some part they install at one end of the pipe or is it supposed to be a whole new pipe??

Thanks guys

no, it is simply a replacement of the retaining system that holds the charge pipe down.

It's a bolt and a clip.

Hell I still haven't got the steering pump done yet. No letter. I didn't know there was a charge pipe recall either!

unless the pipe is damaged, they will only replace the bolt and clip that retains the charge piping to the mount on the engine to elliminate the chance of the pipe coming loose from the mount.

The steering system in the cobalts is electric, not hydraulic, so there is no pump. They replace the electrical steering motor for the recall..

No pump, just an electric motor.

You don't need a letter to get the recall done. Call your local dealer and ask them about the recall. They'll ask for the last 8 of your VIN to see if you're eligible. If you are, they'll ask you to come in.

That easy.
