Dejon pipe MAF relocate

I ordered it new and found out that the maf relocate plate is on the hot side pipe. Is this bad? I dont think it looks bad Im just wondering it theres any either advantage or disadvantage over getting it on the hotside pipe. If I knew before I probably would have got it on the cold side because then its out of the way and all but whatever.

What is this craziness that you speak of? MAF relocate on the hotside would just result in a melted MAF sensor. Can you include a pic of said craziness?

This is the specific location determined by Vince at Trifecta as the best hot side location. I offer it because people want it. Personally I'd keep it on the intake. As for "melted" MAS, what evidence do you have of this?

I'm not sure I've ever heard of melting but I can't imagine that having the MAF right in the hottest air charge is good. Hmph.... Still wouldn't do it...

I have no evidence, either. It's just a theory. I would assume Dejon would have tested this, not expected the customers to.

Ya, really moving from the intake to the charge pipe temperature shouldn't really change. Idk were I heard that it may melt from I think a few people on another thread said it but it doesn't sound like it really matters so Im happy with it.

I doubt that it will melt, but the air temp difference from the stock air inlet location to the upper charge pipe (aka HOT SIDE pipe.. lol) is pretty substantial. We're talking easily a solid 100-200* difference through a decent wot pull particularly on a tuned car. That completely changes things in how the maf registers frequency, not to mention the fact that the iat1 sensor is located in the maf as well, which can not be rescaled for the higher temps.

This is exactly why companies like zzp and treadstone place their maf pads on the coldside piping for their maf relocation kits. Air temps are much much closer to that of the air inlet temps that you would see from the stock maf location.
