It's not that I believe everything I hear, it's the opposite. I've heard so many rumours about every possible thing with the t/c, I wanted to clear it up and find out what the deal acutally is haha

I think on Monday i'm gonna tell them to just cancel my 08, and get me an 09... but the upside to that is, i'll get to test drive the 08 to get a feel for the power BEFORE it's mine. I may end up finding out that they are cancelling it anyway, IF that rumor that they are cancelling orders not built yet are true, seeing as i only ordered mine less than 2 weeks ago.

Thats what I was thinking, but I may have to reorder anyway, my dealer never told me about the LSD option, i CAN have it put on after, but for the same $500 as if it were coming built in, i don't know...

what kinks could they work out ? i dont think theve really tested the car or gotten any input from consumers yet. i would get lsd installed at the dealer and see if they could offer me the high rise im not worried about 09 is gonna be that much better i doubt it

Yea, when i go there i'll just tell them that is a MAJOR option than should not have been overlooked because i specifically said "Are there any other options that we haven't gone over" and they said no, so they'd better have it installed for $500 or less, by them, and add it into my financing... (because i don't have an extra $500 laying around), or if they REALLY cared about their customer, they would just throw it in! heh

Ok guys relax. There is no issue with the 2008.5 cobalt SS cars. There are cars sitting in the lot built that are waiting on full trucks or rail cars before they can ship. Any delay is only driven by the need to fully fill a full truck or rail car before it leaves the plant. That said since the wait is longer to fill the train cars (as they ship a bunch of cars west all at once) it takes longer to get cars to the west coast. Cars shipped by truck in the east will arrive sooner. I had a car I ordered that was scheduled to be built on the 12th and it was in fact built on the 12th and will ship over the weekend by truck.

So theres the deal.

If any cars were cut off on the end for the total 2008.5 run it was because of strike delays. However that said its not going to be very many if at all. They will try to make it all up.

You need to let them know you want to re-order an '09 they won't just automatically fix it. I can REPOST the email I put up in another thread with why they cancelled the orders since people don't seem to understand.

IF this is all true, basically the 2008 SS/TC will be VERY rare, as the ONLY way you will have one is if you pre ordered it. No dealers can "put them to stock" on their lot, until the back orders are filled, which means there will only be a couple thousand AT MOST (honestly I personally bet less than 500 SS/TC with the 2008 year on them)....

Perhaps. But then again, perhaps a quirky minivan or Asian zoom-zoom and funky sedans just don't fit their desires. Of course, if they wanted one of those, they'd prob not be looking too hard at a Balt in the first place.

Yep yep, thats why i'm gonna stick with mine... i'd like to have a rare car... or rather, rare year of a car...Is there anyway to find out how many of the 08's they are actually making, once all the building is done of course?

I don't think they are gonna put that many new options in the 09, i doubt they would add a bunch of stuff in like 2-3 weeks of production... maybe like an ipod connector for the stereo, and like, well, i can't think of anything else, but i doubt it's gonna be anything worth holding out on an 08 for.

I think iPod/USB connector for the radio and the performance display are the bonuses

Well you can already buy the iPod connector apparently from GMAccessoriesZone.com
So they are probably just gonna make it an option for the $159 price on that site (which, might i add is grossly over priced)
