Does anyone else have this happening?
I have an 09 SS and when I'm driving if i hit any decent sized bumps my suspension squeeks. I'm hoping its only because its extra cold this week and it doesn't seem to do it when its warmer out.

Mine does this too, and it gets worse the colder it gets. I'm not sure what the cause is...I took it in and the "lubricated the bushings on the stabilizer bar" and it seems better but it's still there...so I'm thinking I might take some of that liquid silicone spray to all the bushings and whatnot on the suspension...if that doesn't do anything, I'm lead to believe the source may be the shocks themselves.

I'm thinking if it's the shocks I may consider upgrading to some adjustable KYB. Wasn't planning on dumping a bunch of money into this car, but like hell if I'm going to listen to that annoying **** next winter...

I had this problem with my 2007 Honda sedan. I also have the same problem with my Cobalt. Basically in colder climates, suspension bushings, along with almost everything else (see water), will tend to contract. They get stiffer and noisier. This is normally apparent during the first few miles a car is driven. After several miles of regular driving, the suspension "warms up" and you shouldn't hear as much squeaking, even in cold weather.
Suspension "warms up"... it sounds absurd, I know, but even on a smooth road, your suspension is dealing with constant changes in load, bounding and rebounding.
If the sound is still apparent in warmer temperatures (like... 40 or warmer), this should raise some concern.

Would this "suspension warming up" explain why I've never owned another car that's done this? Considering I've owned 5 cars prior to this, and they were all used...

"Suspension warming up"... it really does sound stupid, I know. Regardless, most of us with Cobalts in cold climates are experiencing the same squeaks. I also know that a number of customers in 2006 - 2009 Civics complain about a similar noise in the cold. I just tend to notice the sound going away after the car has been driven a few miles.
It's just a theory, and I could be completely wrong.

Yup. Mine does this. It was about 5 deg. F this morning and it was very audible. I popped the hood and bounced the front up and down a bit and it sounds like it's coming from the top of the struts... very annoying on a new car.
