fire exhaust and motor mount
fire exhaust and motor mount
I recently ordered a Trifecta Tune and have been waiting for dry weather to datalog.
When I left work on Wednesday I got some pops, but not your normal catless turbo charged pops...LOUD POPS. It happened everytime I hit the gas, not matter the gear. I quickly pulled over, the car was shaking, I shut it off. Waited about 15 seconds. Tried again...and it was just fine.
The next day at work everyone told me what they saw...4' flames. At first I thought they were exagerating, but then when the truck drivers started saying it as well. i kinda believed em.
Today I was at Jiffy Lube (found out my buddy worked there and I decided to give him my business...make him change my oil). While under my car he noticed my bottom motor mount bolt was a couple inches loose, not even hand tight.
Any insight on what happened?

Vw Golf gti weber sound - YouTube
forward to 14 seconds
make it louder, deeper and more poppy
and no red line
Motor mount is now tight
Doesnt do it anymore. It was kinda bad ass, but more like bad for car.

If its wet and cold out the MAF sensor freaks out. Mine runs like hammmered **** in the rain. does the exact same stuff minus the flames. I'm guessing thats because you probably have a more fuel rich tune than me.
The fact that it has cleared up on its own kinda point to the same issue I have with condensation in the chargepipes. When you heat up air and then cool it off again alot of humidity reamains in the pipes... it then hits your maf sensor causing a skewed reading and it makes you computer richen up the air/fuel mix to the point where you are running like 8:1 afr or at least i do sometimes. The maf can read like 80lbs of airflow sometimes when that happens so that is the most likely cause. Good luck
Oh and as far as the motor mount... I have no idea

I haven't data-logged my tune yet so could also be a lil too rich for my car.
