It would look good on black and yellow and maybe silver, none other though.

But here's my take. Those wheels are nice looking, but too dark for a factory GM car. Correct me if I'm wrong but the only car that GM has done with black wheels in recent years (i know the pictured ones are not solid black...but its close enough) was the Corvette GS in 96. Now GM does have a darker wheel option on the Corvette with the Comp Grey wheels. My personal opinion on those is they are very car color dependent. Some colors go well with it, others, not so much. That being said, a SS/TC would look really good with Comp Grey. If GM doesn't do it officially....I just might for my SS.

As for pricing, some of you guys are way off. Take a look at the Corvette price for Comp Grey wheels which are painted/clearcoated. Any special wheels that GM does for the cobalt are likely to be paint/clear as well. Don't look for powdercoat as it is unlikely. The Corvette's wheels are larger, but the price for the option is only $395.00. So you could figure a safe number would be $345.00-375.00 for the Cobalt since they are smaller.
GM offered a black wheel on the Grand am GT(1992-1995) , Trans AM collectors edtion (2002) and the Beretta GTU(1988-1991) as well

Ah how could i forget the last TA! oh well.

I wouldn't consider the others recent years though, and my own example of 96 i think barely qualifies as recent.

It would be nice to see them return though.

I prefer my 19"s

But I guess if they were an option and I was looking to get an SS/TC, i'd say sure why not.

Is that any different than any other rims GM has put out?

Is this something you can do on your own, or would a certain shop be able to do powder coating? I love the look of these rims, and I think on my black SS/TC, it would look sexy!

Isn't the cobalt being replaced this year anyway? Why does it matter?

Did you see when this thread was started??? I mattered then...Before the Turbo Cobalt was even in production. Also, this was to be an option for the 09 but as posted, never made it through testing. GM just wanted to know if anyone even had any interest.
