First I've heard of it also in two years. I would like to see some documentation to back up the claims. Call me a skeptic.

I think he's confusing it with the upgrade for EARLIER Cobalts.

That or GM finally realized they're all a bunch of Asshats for putting weak Pressure Plates in our cars.

That's the main problem with the LSJ's too. The Clutch Disk is from Exedy and is very strong... but they were combined with a weak pressure plate.

Updated results with comparison

Since I had numbers for the Cobalt SS, I thought I should compare them with my C5 Z06. I went out this morning and completed the same tests on the same roads with my Z06. As you can guess the Z06 is significantly faster in a straight line. How much faster? Here ya go:

The time comparisons are the difference between the kitted Cobalt SS and my nearly stock C5 Z06.

Interesting. It would have been nice to see 60-100 in 3rd, since there are a lot of #s out there using this range. You *can* however, pretty much extrapolate your # to get a pretty good idea of what you car can do in that range. 50-70 was about 4 sec, so if you cut that in half (for 50-60 range) you get 2 sec. Now subtract that from the 50-100 of 9.6 sec, you get 7.6 sec for 60-100 for GM1 (8.3 sec stock, using a higher 50-70 factor of 4.6)..just about what I would expect. I have an HPT tune. PM me for my results if you like. Some people hear think I'm touting my #s all over the place..don't wanna **** em off.
