VIN is:1G1AP18X797177424

Does that help as far as the car you mentioned?

Gimp was in Iowa at the time but that doesn't mean anything, look at CarMax.

If he sees it, he'll post. I *think* he had around 8k but might have been more.

Prob not his old one. Lots of VR coupes out there.

Yeah it's probably not his car. All the service records and anything related to this car all seem based out of AZ.

Flooring it in 5th gear at 2000rpm is not what the engine prefer

Theres something you can do to see if your tuned
Run 25mph in 2nd gear, floor it and see if you are losing traction

untuned it will be quick but not really lose traction, once tuned its a wheelspin for sure, even on 20psi tune.

Like in a video i made when i got my tune:

stock vs trifecta 22psi
http://www.youtube.com/user/huckerna...35/9kwBWGptAQo

If it can give you an idea...

It doesn't mean you are tuned, you could just have a cat taking a **** or clogged causing it to have to make more boost to reach desired power levels.
It was sold by a Calif dealer so smog cert must have been in place. In Ca, cert is only good for 90 days prior to sale of car. So, how could cat be a *problem*..Ca is very strict and *looks* at OBD big time.
Are there anyother reasons (other than exhaust, etc) for higher boost at sea level/68F? Don't forget, if there is a *problem* you're gonna get a CEL baby.

Not a clogged cat.... LOL if you have an o2 problem yes...

But just because your cat might have a slight clog it's not going to throw a code "everytime" If your car's sensor on the intake manifold is white with blue writing on it, then it does have the S1 kit on it... if it is black and uses both bolt holes then it is stock!

BOOST does not always equal more power.

Sounds good..I'll try that! BTW, I wanted to put the car under load to bring up the boost quiclkly..that's why I did the 5th gear deal.

Ok I tried to time those runs. I know the video speed will effect the time, but I used standard setting.
On the STOCK run I got around 7 sec ave.
On the tuned run I got 5.5 sec ave.
Someone was saying tuned cars got under 5...maybe the more *aggressive* ones?
Anyway, I haven't done 62-100MPH (110km-160KM in video) yet, but I have the 62-94
and it was 5.2 sec. I think we're looking at another sec at most to reach 100 from the 94, so that would definitely be quicker than stock by at least .8 sec or about 40hP, but less than the car shown by another .7 sec or so..around 40 HP less than the car in the video?
Stay tuned..I'll get 62-100MPH soon.

So was your car stock or tuned when you did that?
If stock, then my 21 lbs is NOT unusual afterall.

He never posted if it'll smoke the tires in second from a 30 roll. That'll tell tune or no tune.

Yea. It doesn't seem like it's stock. I'm in FL, and I used to hold 16-18 stock, so....
Trust me MAPs are stock! I have picks of sensors in kit...I don't have those..they look WAYYYYY different. Also, harnesses need to be spliced and there are FOUR WHITE wires on connector of GM1. Stock connector has THREE COLORED wires hooked to it..I have that. NOT GM1 FOLKS!!!

Just did it 5 times. No wheel spin/hop at all. Tried both TC on and OFF. Got a little *chirp* once. However>>>Hit 22-23 evey time @ 70F and sea level.
So, NO TUNE then???

lol, yeah the boost spike means nothing basically, you will probably see that its holding more around 15-16 psi after it levels/drops off the spike. but yeah, if u turned the stability and traction control off and it still didnt spin, ur are stock

OK..then I guess that finally settles the matter here? I'm STOCK...no wheel spin in 2nd with TC off.
end of story.

Food for thought. I bought my 08 TC in Pheonix at sea level. Drove it to Albuquerque NM which is at over 5k elevation. Turbo would spike at 18 and then hold at about 15 at either elevations. Trust me, I had a 7 hour drive back and I had fun with my new car.

Now, with the Trifecta tune... I hold 25lbs in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear, then in 4th and 5th I hold between 27 and 30lbs till the turbo falls on its face. In "stock mode" if I hammer on it at about 3 grand in 1st I spin my brand new goodyear eagle GT's at about 6grand (Vince raises the redline to 7k when he tunes if you want) WITH the traction on. btw, I hold about 20lbs of boost in stock mode period now since the tune.

Your car may have an older version of the Trifecta tun where it wasn't near as agressive as mine AND was full time. I suggest contacting Vince at Trifecta (vince@trifectaperformance.com) and see if he's done any work to it. He'll just need your vin.
