help, another stuck key

Key is stuck in the ignition and my dealer is telling me, my vin isn't coming up for the recall, anyone fix this themselves? Hard? Expensive? The dealer wants to charge 83 bucks just to look at it (eat mah ****)

It should still be covered, I recieved a later in the mail concerning it after it happened to me.

There is a TSB for this, and it covers multiple years. Call another dealer and see what they say.

I have an 09'. Just had mine replaced today free of charge. All i did was tell them it was sticking even though it wasnt saves me having to deal with it later . Im at 40,000km

They are scamming you bud.. There is no need for them to charge $83 to "look" at it when the problem has already been determined. There is a service bulletin out. Look it up, print it out and take it to another dealership..

well the car is going into the shop tmrw morning she said she has to look at it and make sure thats what it is and its possible that itll be replaced free of charge..

She maybe right about the reprograming, but I'm sure you could find a shop with a tech2 that could reprogram it for you cheaper then the dealer.
