Injen Upper Charge Pipe with HKS BOV!!

Okay so with this new turbo set up I have to run a BOV. SO, Im going with this bov here:

Blow Off Valves - HKS Super SQV IV Blow Off Valve BOV

Now what flange do I need to connect this to my INJEN? I work at a CNC/Welding shop and we can mill the diameter of the flange in the ingenue and then weld it on. I will re powder coat it after and walaah!!

Pics? Links to what flange?! I need to order this before tomorrow please!!
Why wouldn't it come with a flange lol

The aluminum 60mm HKS flange. It's like $8 on eBay.
I have it on one of my injen hot side pipes

Just get any hks ssqv weld in flange. I believe the injen pipes are aluminum, so you'll obviously want to match material type.

It shouldn't matter. The overall flange diameter is the same on both I believe. What turbo are you running anyways that you need a 65mm flange? A 60mm should be more than plenty.

subd, this is seriously next on my to do list!! Post vids from in car and drive by! A question for tuners... Does placement on the upper pipe matter? I figure most people do it fairly close to the top of the pipe then I see others mount it to the portion of the upper CP that's pointing down towards the ground so you don't see the BOV when you first open the hood. Whats the deal?

Wonder what the difference is man? If it doesn't make a difference I figure might as well mount it close to the passenger compartment for loud soundz!

I always heard it should be about 4-6 inches from the throttle body. Thats where it was on my Ranger and it worked very well. when I put the RFL BOV on my SS it was in the center of the upper pipe and it worked without a tune. I'm not a tuner so i don't really know if it makes a difference

As close to the turbo as possible is where you want it.

It's a topic that's long been debated throughout all turbo communities. Most of it comes down to personal preference and/or available space, BUT, generally speaking, closer to the tb tends to get a faster response, and closer to the turbo is generally accepted to be "safer" for the turbo. Ultimately on a LNF, you're pretty limited with options on where to comfortably fit one anyways, so anywhere on the hotside pipe is fine as long is it's not on an inside bend.

Thoughts on being hptuned and then adding one without a retune or a maf relocate? I see that its been done but also see people mention that its releasing already metered air into the atmosphere and can cause rich spikes.

It is NOT a good practice to pull through MAF and VTA. When a tuner says its all good and okay, I tend to not trust their abilities.
Venting out metered air the PCM is accounting for is creating a leak in the system.

^^There's your problem

Trust me when I tell you this. Relocate the maf! He's an ignorant fool to think he can simply "tune in" a vta bov in a draw through maf system. Such terrible misinformation there. It's just not happening. With the amount of variables and inconsistencies involved, there is simply NO way to account for it regardless of how much he might insist you can. Even disabling DTC's won't band aid the inevitable issues that you will run into without relocating the maf.

John, should this apply with Forge's VTA? Meaning relocate the maf with that as well?

This goes for anything vta really. Draw through systems and vta valves just don't play nice together. You can get away with a little bit more using the forge vta unit, but it's still a crap shoot and just not worth the headache.
