"Insulating Plate" on Intermediate Pipe

I tried to search and couldn't find the info I needed. I have an 07 Cobalt SS SC, and I noticed the stock intermediate pipe has a small plate welded on it. I assume this was to add some "insulation" between the pipe and chassis/wheel well area.

I bought the GMPP touring catback exhaust and it doen't have any plate attached. Am I correct in assuming it is not necessary to transfer the plate to the new intermediate pipe?

Thanks in advance for your replies. I've been away performance cars due to kids, college, etc. Now, I'm glad to be back especially with my son's interest. This is a great forum and I thank everyone who donates to it.

Yeah, just install the exhaust as is, and you'll be fine.
