intercooler bracket broke

intercooler bracket broke

while parking my car i kinda pull up too far and hit the curb. when i reversed i noticed this little thin bracket or whateva that i guess holds or supports the intercooler was hanging. i wanted to know could i remove this or where could i get another at. thanks

yea you need it. There are two bolts on each side holding the intercooler. Other than that...just the charge pipes are holding it. You can get them from GMpartsdirect.com I believe...

That's not your intercooler bracket. You're talking about the condensation pipe that hangs below the IC. Another one bites the dust. Check your intercooler endtanks. There's a chance they may have cracked.

thanks for the link. im stuff kinda new to the fi scene so when you say check my intercooler endtanks what am i looking at and for?

Til you throw codes and can't explain why your car is driving poorly. If you knocked it off, there's a good chance that you either cracked the endtank, or bent a tab. I wouldn't be surprised if your IC was leaking.

leak test it first. a lot of guys can either get the IC warrantied for the end tanks cracking, or fix it with jb weld or something similar.

Oh yea...I blasted a big ass hole in it. I threw a code and couldn't boost. I plugged it with JB Weld and pressure tested it. I was good and it held the 23psi

No way to mount it to our car, plus you would had to buy some metal 90 degree elbows to hook up the OEM piping.
